Dr. Jackson Invited to Olympic Trials to Support Team USA Athletes
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – A local chiropractor is lending a hand, and a laser, to help treat athletes competing in the Olympic trials.
Dr. Jackson Draeger, who owns Midwest Pain Solutions, is leaving for Eugene, Oregon, and begins his treatments on Thursday.
Draeger will use high-intensity laser therapy, which uses specific wavelengths of light to increase blood flow and reduce inflammation, which in turn is said to shorten recovery time. Draeger says the treatment is particularly beneficial for decathletes and heptathletes.
“If they have those long days where they’re going to have a lot of inflammation from using their joints pretty hard, the laser will help with that increased blood flow to get them up to their peak, but then it will also help with the reduction and swelling around those joints that have been used pretty heavily throughout the trials,” said Draeger.
Draeger will be joined at the Olympic trials by his brother and father. The Draeger’s have been helping Olympic athletes since 2004.
